This piece reflects my thoughts on Daoism and the idea that you cannot add structure to a world that is not still. I took 'go with the flow' literally by using water and presented motion through the waves and clouds. Structure is presented in two ways. First being the glass cups. Usually, cups are meant to hold water, but here they cannot. I chose to make the cups glass to show that the motion doesn't break structure, it just cannot be controlled. Secondly, I show structure through framing. I once again present this idea that structure is not being broken, rather motion is spilling out via the waves at the bottom. The clouds, waves, and texture were inspired by Ancient Chinese scroll paintings. Other elements like the pink sky and the number of cups have no real intention besides being eye-pleasing.
